Everyone Everywhere Blog Tour 2010- (That means a free album folks)

April 19, 2010

Beginning today, April 19th, and spanning through May 4th, Tiny Engines and 10 Independent Music Blogs will be giving away every song from the upcoming Self-Titled 12″ LP from Philadelphia’s Everyone Everywhere. Aptly dubbed the Everyone Everywhere MP3 Blog Tour, the concept is simple: ten amazing blogs giving away ten amazing songs over the course of the next two weeks.

What could be better than marrying the brilliance of blogging and free music? (*drum roll*) Reviewsic itself will be taking part of this genius idea! Catch us toward the finishing leg of the tour for our post of song nine. But don’t forget, you have to follow all the great blogs involved to get the whole album.

The Ripple Effect will be kicking off the tour with a free download of the album opener, “Tiny Planet” followed by “Raw Bar OBX 2002″ at Can You See The Sunset? tomorrow. Each song on the record will be given away on consecutive weekdays until the album’s official release on May 4th. Be sure to keep up with the tour’s progress, because after the final day all mp3′s will be removed-but have no fear, the album will be available to stream via Punknews.org once the 4th rolls around.

For the individuals who hear this first track and find themselves chomping at the bit for the rest, the
album is currently available from
iTunes and other digital retailers. Even with the tour downloads, its probably not the worst idea to support the band as well as the label and Pre-Order the 12″ LP version in all its vinyl awesomeness from Tiny Engines.

So what are you waiting for? Start the tour!

Feel free to scope out and add the other blogs on the tour to your RSS feed so you don’t miss a beat (literally)

Deep Elm Records, “The Emo Diaries”- Accepting Submissions

April 19, 2010

Submission is now open for Chapter 12 of Deep Elm Record’s legendary compilation series “The Emo Diaries”

For nearly 15 years, The Emo Diaries has been Deep Elm’s way of documenting an extraordinary and powerful style of music that possesses the ability to stir emotion like no other. The Emo Diaries has introduced over 135 incredible bands including Jimmy Eat World, The Appleseed Cast, This Drama, Further Seems Forever (featuring Chris Carrabba of Dashboard Confessional), Planes Mistaken For Stars, The Movielife and many more to fans wordwide. All songs are exclusive and unreleased, making each chapter of The Emo Diaries a true compilation, not a sampler of previously released music. Bands are selected to participate based on open, blind submissions of their music. Only the music matters, not who the band is…and that’s the way it should be.

The Emo Diaries unofficially came to rest in 2004 with its tenth chapter. Deep Elm cited the bastardization of the term “emo” in pop culture, as well as mainstream’s stranglehold and subsequent commercialization of the genre, which placed the focus squarely on the aesthetic…not the music, the energy or the passion. But then in 2007, Deep Elm re-opened its doors to the genre they helped to document and expose to the world. The scene heralded the release of Chapter 11 “Taking Back What’s Ours” and fans have been asking for another chapter ever since.

Submission for Chapter 12 is open to any artist, signed or unsigned, throughout the world. There is no cost to participate and selected bands will be informed all details including worldwide promotion, publicity, marketing, distribution and royalties. Submission will close when the label has selected 12 songs for worldwide release.

“The most important compilation series for emotional / punk / hardcore music.” - Enough
“In the history of the compilation, there has never been a better one than this.” - Fracture
“The best compilation series on this planet. Period.” - Punk Rock Reviews
